　This vase follows the form of Buddhist vases of the previous period, but is extremely simple and without design. The ash glaze is uniformly applied over the entire surface by water-firing. The glaze is smooth and well-melted, but the oxidized firing process gives it a color similar to that of yellow sleeves.
