This is one of the larger Goshi wares. Such large wagashi were often produced in the mid-14th century. Many of the wagashi from this period have a low orbicular section. The shoulder is decorated with a chrysanthemum flower design, and the four male sides are stamped with a sealed flower design consisting of four pairs of roundels. The iron glaze is a light brown with black stripes on top, giving the vase a luxurious feel that is not typical of small vases.
