Masterpiece. An old Seto kagatatsu tea caddy. This tea caddy was owned by the Asai family of Kaga (Ishikawa Prefecture), hence the name. It was later presented to the lord of the domain by the Asai family and has been in the Maeda family ever since. The clay is white, the underglaze is persimmon, and the overglaze is black. It is generally believed to have been made by Fujishiro I. (Taisho Meikikan)
