Araki Korai
Araki Korai

Great Name. Korean tea bowl, Korai. It is named after Araki Settsumori Murashige, who owned it. At first glance, it looks like an Annan tea bowl, but the soft glaze, especially the white glaze dripping inside like a well tea bowl, is considered to be a characteristic of Koryo tea bowls. Originally owned by Rikyu, it entered the Owari Tokugawa family through Araki Murashige. It is currently in the collection of the Tokugawa Reimeikai. (Gankan Meimono Ki, Kokin Meimono Ruiju, Meimono Ki, Taisho Meikikan)
