The site of an old kiln in Kayakari, Kamimizuno, Seto City, Aichi Prefecture, was discovered and excavated in 1932 (Showa 7), but due to a lack of thorough investigation, numerous discoveries were made in the years that followed. On what is thought to be the base of a guardian dog, the date of August 1324 was found, and on a ceramic plate, the date of February 1325 was found. Among the many old Seto kilns, this kiln site is the only one with a definite date.
