Great Name. Korean tea bowl, Mishima cylinder, Kyogen Hakama hand. This is a famous orchid tea bowl. The exterior has four chrysanthemum patterns in the center of the body, with round or tortoiseshell patterns in the upper and lower horizontal rows, and a white pattern on an indigo gray ground. This is the oldest and best work of this type. It was owned by Oda Yuraku and handed down to the Tokugawa Yoshinao, the founder of the Kishu family, who requested it. It is currently in the collection of the Toku Reimeikai. (Gan-nin Meimono Ki, Kokin Meimono Ruiju, Taisho Meikikan)
