A specialty of the Tokugawa Shogun’s treasure trove. Ryuei means shogun, shogun’s camp, shogun’s family, and shogunate. The Ryuei Gomotsu is based on the Higashiyama Gomotsu, which has been handed down from the Muromachi period (1336-1573) to the Shogunate and the Morotomi family, as well as the relics of Ieyasu. The pottery includes Aoki kagashu, Akaneya eggplant, Kyogoku eggplant, small kagashu, Matsuhana tea jar, Tsutsui kagashu, Nitta kagashu, Hatsuhana kagashu, Miyao kagashu, Aoki tea bowl, large Koryo tea bowl, yellow tenmoku tea bowl, Yoshino Koryo tea bowl, Nanban imogashu water jar and Hakemizu jar, which have all been handed down to this day.
