This twin-eared jar is also the only one of its kind in the Suzu ware collection.
It is thickly made and has a very rich texture despite its small size. The bottom was cut with a still thread cutter, and the body was formed by beating the body into a plate shape and then shaving the surface. The inner surface has also been adjusted by shaving. Two rounded vertical ears are attached to the slightly stout shoulders of the round body. Three chrysanthemum seal flowers, each about 1.6 cm in diameter, are stamped on both sides of the shoulders. The three chrysanthemum seal flowers are one of the common patterns in Suzu ware of the late Kamakura period. Although the clay is rather coarse, it has been fired very well and has a grayish-black color, with natural ash fall from the shoulder to half of the body. It is one of the representative examples of Suzu ware from the late Kamakura period.
