This is a type of small Shigaraki vase, commonly known as a “Uzukumaru”. The surface of the vessel was adjusted by molding and scraping. The shoulders are decorated with a thick and majestic touch with a rope pattern (hinogaki pattern). The reddish-brown surface is covered with a dark green natural glaze, giving the jar a powerful appearance.
