The excavation of a jar with an Oan inscription has made it clear that this jar is of the Nanboku-cho period, with the center of the body overhanging the body and the shape of an arithmetic sphere that is bent in the shape of a “ku” (figure).
The height and body diameter are almost equal, giving the jar a flattened appearance. The mouth rim is made in a ball-rim style, which is rare in Shigaraki ware. It is made of rolled-up clay and is well fired, with a yellowish green natural glaze on the shoulder, giving it a massive appearance.
