　The small, upright mouth and neck, the neatly shaped ovoid body, and the outward twist of the mouth rim all indicate that this is a late Muromachi period vase. The clay was rolled up and molded using dense clay with few quartz and feldspar, and the surface of the vessel was smoothed out using me. It is well fired to a reddish-brown color, and a dark green natural glaze is applied to the shoulder and part of the body to accentuate this jar.
