 This is a heavy jar with a thick jade rim and stout shoulders. It is made of high quality clay containing a few fine grains of silica stone, and the clay is rolled up and molded. The shoulders are decorated with three rows of chinkansen lines using a fine mixed comb. It is fired in a reduction firing and has a grayish-black color with a grayish-blue sesame sprinkled natural glaze on the shoulder.
