Tamba large jars are classified into two types: long jars and round-shouldered jars. This jar is an example of the latter, and similar examples include a large jar with paulownia and autumn grass designs. This jar is an example of the latter type. It has a four-tiered body made of rolled-up corded clay, and the surface of the vessel is adjusted to be smooth by me. It is of a tautly-shouldered form with a rounded mouth, and was probably made around the period of the Northern and Southern Dynasties. The pottery is well finished with dark green glaze on the brownish-brown shoulder.
