14th century
Height 40.4 cm, mouth diameter 15.1 cm, body diameter 32.0-32.7 cm, bottom diameter 16.5 cm
Although the shoulder has lost its tension and the body has become rather thin, the thickness of the neck indicates that it probably belongs to the “anti-kuchimaru-do” style.
It is thought to have been made in the late 14th century. The body is made in a four-tiered hagi-zukuri style by winding up the corded clay. There are kiln marks on the shoulders and geta marks on the underside. The finish is well finished, with a fresh green glaze running from the neck to the shoulder and partly running down the body, creating a highly varied surface.
