This tea bowl is similar in appearance to “Shunkan” and others, but the front of the box cover is inscribed “Nidaime Kuro” and the back is inscribed “Fudo Jyokusai (Hanashii)” by Souatsu. The author of “Kuro Nidaime” on the front is not clear. The tea bowl is made with a deep tea-tamenuri (tea-tasting bowl), and the base is large and the inside is wide and flat. The glaze is thick, well melted and shiny. It is not clear why this tea bowl was designated as the second generation, but it is probably because the glaze tone is black and well melted.
