Height 8.4 cm, mouth diameter 3.8 cm, bottom diameter 4.2 cm
This is a rare example of an Iga tea caddy, modeled after a karamono kagaju tea caddy. The interior is thinly glazed with Seto glaze from around the mouth, and the exterior is thinly glazed with beadlo glaze, which was probably applied. Seto glaze and ash glaze have been mixed and fired to create a murawara-like scene. It is assumed to be the work of Todo Iga. On the back of the lid of the box is inscribed “Iga porcelain, chajiri-gatsurae to 云左 (hanasei)” by Ryōrōsai Soza, the ninth generation of Omotesenke (master of the Omotesenke school).
