This flower vase is a model of an old copper vase with a thin edge, and is a unique and elegant work in the Kakiemon style of color painting. The low rim is surrounded by nineteen small suriza, which are gilded with red chrysanthemum flowers and green arabesque leaves. The center of the slim and tight body is covered with two floating lines, and from the top to the hem, chrysanthemums and maple leaves are scattered in three lines of running water. The overglaze painting is vividly colored, but the light lapis lazuli color of the running water is shallow for Kakiemon-style color painting, and is close to that of Nabeshima. The smooth white porcelain base has a faint bluish tinge, and the slightly wide base is reddish with a dewy tone. The appearance of this piece suggests that it was made by special order during the Genroku and Kyoho periods.
