This is also an excellent Shozui-type work. It depicts maple leaves and deer in autumnal foliage in a well-positioned scene, with masterful brushwork in the style of the Kano school. The surrounding area is mainly underglaze blue with a maple tree with two heads, a boats and landscapes design within a window in the “kakusa-ma” style, and a Shozui-round design within a four-way reverse-dasuki ground with overglaze blue and a Chinese lion. On the reverse side, a cherry blossom branch and a Shozuimaru design are arranged alternately. A Kakufuku inscription is written in underglaze blue inside the base.
