This is a representative example of Shozuite wagasa large bowl. Shozuite is characterized by the use of both underglaze blue and overglaze blue to express the design, and both underglaze blue and overglaze blue are lighter in color than the typical Ko-kutani style, resulting in a refined and elegant work. Two birds of prey are placed on a bamboo with a cloud pattern on the front, and a unique Shozuimaru pattern is arranged around the bamboo. The outer surface is decorated with a banded four-way motif, and the inscription “Kakufuku” is written in underglaze blue inside the base. It is regrettable that the overglaze enamels on the prospective decoration are a little muddy.
