This is one of the best examples of incense containers by Ninsei, featuring an interesting koto (Japanese harp) shape with details in underglaze iron and underglaze blue. The back of the lid, the opening, and the tatami matting on the legs are clay, while the rest of the piece is glazed. The bottom is stamped in the center with the Insei’s seal.
