Height: 8.3cm, Bowl diameter: 12.3-12.5cm, Stand diameter: 4.8cm
This tea bowl is of a smooth and easy style, with a slightly stooped body, and the white glaze on the front surface, leaving the area around the base, has been fired to the most favorable finish. The white glaze on the front of the bowl, leaving the area around the base, has been fired to the best quality. The base is carved out to one thin side, and the left side is stamped with the seal of Ninsei. One side of the body is decorated with a cedar grove design in rust, green and blue overglaze enamels, while the reverse side is decorated with a single tachibana circle design in overglaze enamels only. The front of the lid is inscribed “Gomon-tsuke ochawan 12” and the back “Honda Harimamori Yosato.” The inscription “Gomon-tsuke ochawan” on the front is clearly by Kanamori Munekazu. It was probably made at the order of the Honda family, the retainers of the Kaga Maeda family.
