Although Kikumai also produced red-painted gold brocade, most of them are not red-painted gold brocade of the Ming dynasty, as in the ancient red-painted gold brocade of the Ming dynasty, but gold mud with gold patterns on a red ground.
This sencha-bowl is a typical example of Kikume Kinran-te, with a six-petaled twisted flower in the center, double lines around the mouth, peony patterns on three sides, and lotus petals on the top and bottom of the outer body. The gold paintwork is skillful, and scratch-off lines have also been added. The inscription “Yonezo” is written in underglaze blue on the base.
