This is a representation of a cloud crane in the Honten style, with Asuka-style patterns inlaid in white over five layers on the outside, and a transparent glaze applied on top, but the glaze has been fired to a brown color. There are three marks on the foot and the body of the bowl. The box is not a matching box, but rather a box with a handwritten inscription by the daughter of Komei. On the underside of the lid, it is written “This is a work by my father, Saburo, and I have put my seal on it. On the lid itself, it is also written in the same handwriting, ‘Unkaku’.
