Although it is not clear which kiln this pottery was fired in, it is a representative example of Kyo-yaki pottery produced before the middle of the Edo period. The body is covered with a thick yellowish white glaze, and the design of cherry blossoms and Shibagaki on the body is similar to the design of Nabeshima ware of the Genroku and Kyoho periods. The bottom of the bowl has a reddish burnt surface.
