Height 9.8cm, Diameter 10.6-14.1cm, Width 16.7cm, Base Diameter 9.7cm
This is an oval-shaped flat water jar with a Ubaguchi-style construction, with a narrow base and small ears on the left and right. The exterior is unglazed, with the lathe marks clearly visible, and the interior is coated with iron glaze, giving it a distinctly Nanban feel. This is probably the most outstanding of the Nanban-style Namiya pieces. The name “Michihachi” is clearly engraved on the left side of the base.
