This is one of the representative works of conservation that applies the technique of sandalwood lacquer, with a unique style of scattering gold leaf randomly under the red overglaze glaze. On the outside, arabesque patterns are arranged in floating lines between the three windows, and within the windows, rabbits, waterfowl and flying birds are clearly depicted in white, creating a novel design. The side of the body, which has been covered in white glaze, also features a carved line design of reishi clouds, and a dragon design in the center. The foot ring is exposed, and the mark of the Yongle Emperor is stamped on the foot ring. The lid is inscribed “Kouchi-shadan” on the front and “Zengoro-zo” on the back, and the Yongle Emperor’s mark is stamped on the lid. This type of work is not seen in other works of the same period, and it is probably unique to the conservationist, who was very keen on research.
