This pottery is made of grayish-white, fine, and glossy clay, and is wheel-thrown with water-grinding and shaping on the lower half of the body. The firing is extremely solid, with a light green natural glaze covering the neck and part of the body. This long-necked jar is thought to have been made at the Touyuu kiln in southern Osaka, and is thought to date from around the end of the 8th century.
