 This urn was excavated from a cremation urn near the ruins of Shima Kokubunji Temple. According to the late Toshio Suzuki, it was a tomb surrounded on all sides by slate stones. The clay is a dense gray clay, fired relatively well, and covered with a dark green ash glaze from the shoulder to the body, part of which has turned blue due to kiln alteration.
