Ōhi VII: tea bowl with sacred gem design, amber galze

Height: 10.1 cm; Mouth Diameter: 8.2–9.0 cm; Foot Diameter: 3.9 cm
The bowl’s arched body likely emulates the style of the first-generation Ōhi. The body is adorned with a band of incised lines, and the foot is small and compact, with a shallow indentation on the underside. The interior features a shallow, oval-shaped tea pool. A thin amber glaze covers the entire surface, and a bluish-white glaze, reminiscent of maku-yū, is applied both inside and out. Additionally, a pearl motif is painted in white slip under the glaze on one side of the body.
A long, oblong “Ōhi” mark is stamped on the side of the foot. The lid of the inner box bears the inscription “Tea Bowl ‘Ōhi Michichika Mark’,” and it comes with a seventh-generation original box.
