The upright shape of the mouth and neck and the bulge in the breast suggest that this jar retains an ancient style, but the sharply pointed edge of the folded back edge of the mouth, the technique of attaching the ears on top of the comb line, and the technique of narrowing the center of the ears by pressing them down from the front and back, suggest that the production date should be lowered to the middle of the 15th century. The surface of the bowl is unique to the 15th century. The surface of the bowl has a brownish hue peculiar to early examples, and the smooth oil that covers the bowl has fine penetrations all over its surface.
