Honda Collection
This jar is thought to have been made around the middle of the 15th century, judging from the shape and design, including the upright oral part, long body with sloping shoulders, low and taut base, and two eye lines on the shoulders with a comb-like wavy pattern between them, on which the four ears are affixed. The base has a yellowish-white color with a zanguri-shikki texture, and the brush-applied ash glaze has a tone similar to that of a yellow glaze after oxidizing firing.
These elements are identical to those of the Anakobo kiln in Toki City, and there is no doubt that this is a piece from the same kiln.
