14th century
Height (body) 25.7 cm, diameter of the body 19.4 cm, diameter of the bottom 9.8 cm.
The neck of this vase is attached to another one, but there is no inconsistency in the morphology.
The rounded body and the tapering toward the bottom are typical of the shape of the peak of Kosedo at the end of the Kamakura period (1185-1333). The entire surface of the body is covered with seal flower patterns. The main motif is a large rounded design on the lower half of the body with nine plum blossom motifs inside. The upper part is decorated with a circle and a rounded sword tip design, and the upper part boasts an arabesque and petal design.
The iron glaze is dark blue due to kiln alteration. It must have been reduced by being buried in ash. This is a rare example.
