This incense burner belongs to one of the two main types of incense burners in the Kosedo period. The oral part of the censer shows the characteristics of this period well, but the bulge at the waist has been deformed to accommodate the pasted flowers. The waist is deformed to create an affixed floral pattern, with ten lotus petals pasted in parallel at the waist. The incense burner usually has three legs, but this has been replaced with a high stand, probably due to the affixed flowers.
