Houjuin
This is a typical Muromachi style jar with a well-developed body and a slightly broadly beveled mouth rim. This type of mouthwork is a common technique seen on wares from various regions from the late 15th to the 16th century.
The base is a dense brownish-brown color, and the natural glaze flows thickly from the neck of the mouth to half the surface of the body, creating an impressive glaze tone.
