Aichi Prefectural Ceramic Museum
This jar was excavated from Kajitsubozawa Kiln No. 10 in 1921, along with the previous jar with carved design. The shape is almost the same, and the slightly open neck and slightly sloping shoulders suggest that it was made around the beginning of the 13th century.
The design on the shoulder consists of three parallel sunken lines with arcs drawn in the shape of a figure eight using the same tool, with a meandering parallel sunken line pattern in the middle of the arcs, showing one of the patterns of Atsumi kiln jars with engraved patterns. Like the former, the firing is not good.
