The relatively small size of the mouth and neck in relation to the size of the body, the overhanging shoulders, and the straight line to the small base suggest a date in the mid-13th century or later. The clay is a low refractory clay rich in sand, which is common in Atsumi area, and it was molded in a wheel-loading style. The firing was good, and the natural glaze on the entire surface of the shoulder is yellowish white. It is considered to be near the end of the Atsumi period for large jars.
