Oyasama Okada was born in 1882 in Hashiba, Tokyo (Taito-ku, Tokyo), the founder of the World Salvationist Church. In 1935, he founded the World Salvationist Church under the slogan of “truth, goodness, and beauty,” and became its founder. As part of his religious activities, he established the Hakone Art Museum in 1952 to promote art and contribute to cultural life, and exhibited his collection. He died on February 10, 1955 at the age of 72. After his death, the Atami Art Museum was established to carry on his legacy.
