Ko-Iga flower vase. This is one of the most outstanding vases of the Ko-Iga series. Ko-Iga is said to be fired in a kiln for a number of times, and this vase is the most obvious example. The chipping around the mouth and the scattered fragments of the vase’s body like the stabbing of a crow’s nest are the result of repeated firing in the kiln. The strong burnishing and the beadlo glaze shining through the burnishing are also indicative of this. It was inherited by the Maeda family and is now in the possession of the Hatakeyama Memorial Museum of Fine Arts.
