Specialty. Korean tea bowl, famous hand well. The name comes from the fact that it was originally a fixture of Kyoto’s Konchiin Temple (the pagoda of Nanzenji Temple of the Rinzai sect of Zen Buddhism). When it was included in “Kokin Meibutsu Ruju,” it was in the possession of Hirano Toemori-no-mamoru. Afterwards, it was handed down to Marquis Kutsuki, lord of Fukuchiyama Castle, and after the Meiji Restoration, it belonged to the Iwasaki family. (Taisho Meikikan)
