15th century
Height 11.5cm, Bore 29.5-31.4cm, Bottom 9.4cm
Bizen Museum of Antique Ceramics
A broad rim band has been provided.
This piece is probably dated to the 15th century, close to the unleaved period. It is made of clay with high iron content and has remarkable water-ground wheel-thrown folds. There are thread cut marks on the underside of the bottom.
There are no grater marks on the inner surface. The firing fire is not very high, but there is severe firing distortion, probably due to the low refractoriness. The broad rim band extending up and down is slightly shiny. The work is thin and light.
