 The floral motifs are painted with thick brush strokes. Although the design differs from that of the “Incense container with a fountain pen design,” “Incense container with a butterfly design,” “Incense container with a chrysanthemum design,” etc., the workmanship is similar. These types of incense containers are clearly modeled after Ming dynasty lacquerware such as Chinese lacquerware in the Dui Zhu, Dui Black, and Qing Shei styles.
