 The term “iris-te Kiseto” is said to have been coined for this piece. The iris design, which appears as a single plant in the deep prospect, is so vivid that it made a deep impression on people, and this type of ware came to be called “Shobu-te” even if the design is not of iris. It is a large, flat bowl with a bell-shaped rim shaped like a double-petaled ring flower, and is also commonly called a gong bowl because it resembles a gong at first glance. Along with bowls with daikon (Japanese radish) and flower patterns, this is the largest of the Kiseto series. It is decorated with a single iris plant carved in lines, and the leaves are heavily painted. The rim is decorated with a floral arabesque carved in lines and painted with iron and .
