This is a so-called “dai-bachi,” a round dish with a high pedestal. There are no other examples of Ki-Seto dai-bachi, and it is a popular piece among the curious. A single iris plant is clearly engraved in the center of the circular shape. The flowers are decorated with iron, and the leaves with a thin layer of bile. The rim is decorated with iris leaf patterns on two sides, and the high base is carved with a design of a ding and a leaf pattern.
