Seto tea bowl, known as “Banzai”

Seto tea bowl, known as "Banzai"

Height 10.0 cm, mouth diameter 10.4 cm, high stand diameter 6.0 cm
This tea bowl has been called Rikyu Seto since ancient times, but it is not Seto black, but has a Seto ring on it. The style is quite artificial to be Rikyu’s favorite. It is not clear whether it was Rikyu’s favorite or not. The spatula is strongly spatula-grained on the body, which gives the piece a strong Oribe-like flavor. It is probably from a period later than the Rikyu period.
