Height 6.7 cm, mouth diameter 8.2 cm, base diameter 6.2 cm
This is an extremely interesting piece. On the cover of the box, there is an inscription “Seto Tea Bowl, Nagoyayaki” written by Enshu Kobori. Of course, it is certain that it is a Seto-style pottery, as inferred from its ring, but it is interesting that Kobori Enshu has written “Nagoya-yaki” on it. We have never seen any other piece referred to as “Nagoyayaki” other than this one, or it may have been fired at one of the official kilns of the Owari Tokugawa family. Moreover, the style is clearly handmade, not very skillful, and it is certain that it was handled by someone else. The existence of this “Nagoyayaki” must be investigated in the future. The base is a tsukegatotai. It is also interesting to note that there is a large defect around the base, and the inside of the base is covered with feldspar glaze.
