Several fan-shaped covered wares have been handed down from generation to generation, all of which are clearly indicative of Keicho’s tastes. The creativity of the Mino potters, who produced an endless number of varied vessels, is astonishing even after all this time.
The front of the lid has a deep basket pattern to show the fan surface and the bone, and a low cord is attached to the center of the bone. The lid is covered on three sides and the body on two sides with thick green glaze, and various patterns are combined on the white ground to form a three-dimensional design. The back of the lid is lined with cleats along the shape of the vessel, and the bottom has legs on three sides.
