This bowl stands up neatly and openly, with the mouth turned back at the edge and the large base carved out high, and the carving inside the base is also deep. The body is decorated with an iris design on one side and a floral design on the other. This is also one of the best examples of Karatsu pots, and there are no other examples like it. The area around the base shows a reddish clay skin. It was probably made by the Koraishin Kiln in Ichinose.
