Height 8.5 cm, mouth diameter 11.9 x 16.4 cm, base diameter 5.6 cm
This thick, shoe-shaped bowl has a stepped body and a low, small carved base. One side of the body is painted with a bridge, the other with a willow branch and a bird, and the top of the bowl is also painted with a willow branch and a bird. The mouth is thinly glazed with iron, but some of the glaze has a sea squirt-like appearance, and the landscape is deeply satisfying. There is a rounded engraving on the base, but it does not appear to be a kiln mark. There is a large horizontal crack around the waist, and a fine grayish-white clay surface appears on the base. It was probably made by the Oribe-influenced Tani Kiln of Jioya.
