This is a large dish with an edge-bent mouth. The base is very small and low, and is carved in a straight line, showing a gentle curve toward the mouth. The plate depicts a pine tree with branches extending in three directions, and the expression of pine needles is unique to Karatsu. A flower vase with a similar design was excavated from the Motoyashiki Kiln in Mino, and it is assumed that the potter from the Tani Kiln in Oniya, who fired this vase, went to Mino. It is said that the pottery at the Mikaya-no-Tani kiln liked to paint pine pictures on large dishes, and Figure 23-24 is also from the same kiln, and a ceramic fragment of a large dish similar to this dish was excavated from the kiln site at Mikaya-no-Tani. The entire surface of the dish, except for the area around the base, is covered with glaze in a haphazard manner.
