Height 16.3 cm, mouth diameter 15.9 cm, bottom diameter 9.1 cm
A water jar in the shape of a seed pot with small ears on either side of the shoulder. The white portion is large, and the mouth rim is sharply twisted outward and flattened so that a lid can be dropped inside. The shape is very simple and thickly thrown on the potter’s wheel, as it follows the tane jar shape that has been used since the Muromachi period. Almost the entire surface from the mouth to the body is covered in a deep scarlet color, with a hint of white skin around the mouth. The lower half of the body has a soft white ground with an irregularly wrapped WASASHI (wrapping cloth) design. The body is wheel-thrown, and there are traces of sticking to the side of the body in black. In addition, there are two pieces of stone sumac and a kiln mark on the bottom.
